1. An angled steel screen is put in place as a hidden framework

2. The framework is lined with an erosion protection mesh (min. 10 cm overlap)

3. Geogrid mesh is extended along the back of the steel screen (min. overlap 20 cm) and is folded over the top of the steel screen (min. 1.5 m). The length of the base layer is established by technical calculation. Additional mesh is necessary to compensate for the steel screen’s incline, as well as for a minimum of 1.5 m to fold over which is later folded back on top of the fill layer. Once the erosion protection and geogrid have been laid out the steel screen is stiffened by hooking in the diagonal braces.

4. The first layer of backfill is brought in and compacted (min. layer thickness = 20 cm); humus or top soil should be used to load the fill area adjacent to the steel framework, to ensure successful vegetation growth

5. The second backfill layer is brought in and compacted using only forward advance to avoid driving directly on top of the geogrid

6. Protruding geogrid is pulled back over the backfill (top overlap = min. 1.50 m)

7. The erosion protection mesh is pulled back also

8. Backfill material is spread and compacted until the required level is reached

9. New tiers of steel framework levels are built up until the planned slope height has been reached.
